Farry to Host Community Event to Bring Awareness to Carbon Monoxide Alarms Standards Act
1/15/2014
WHAT: Rep. Frank Farry (R-Bucks) will host a free community event to bring awareness to a new state law, the Carbon Monoxide Alarm Standards Act, which he championed in the House. Signed into law in December, Act 121 requires multi-family dwellings with a fossil fuel-burning heater/appliance, fireplace or an attached garage to be equipped with an operational, centrally located and approved carbon monoxide alarm.

Kidde, a manufacturer of fire safety products, has donated carbon monoxide detectors to Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company to be distributed to attendees, while supplies last.

WHO: Farry; Philadelphia Fire Commissioner Lloyd Ayers; Kim Everett, coalition coordinator, Bucks County Safe Kids Coalition; Donald Konkle, executive director, Pennsylvania Fire and Emergency Services Institute; a representative from Middletown Township’s Office of the Fire Marshal; other officials and local emergency service responders.

WHEN: Friday, Jan. 17. Remarks will begin at 11 a.m. Carbon monoxide detectors and educational materials will be available to the public from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4-6 p.m.

WHERE: Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company, Station No. 22
1741 Langhorne Yardley Road, Langhorne
