Lawmakers, Animal Advocates Urge Support for Animal Protection Bills, Farry Says
10/15/2018
WHAT: State Rep. Frank Farry will join with other lawmakers and animal advocacy groups to urge Senate passage of his legislation, known as the Motor Vehicle Extreme Heat Protection Act (House Bill 1216), which would prohibit the confinement of a dog or cat in an unattended motor vehicle in a manner that would endanger the health and well-being of the animal.

The event, sponsored by the Justice for Libre Animal Advocacy Group, will also promote Senate Bill1154, which would require pet stores to source animals from shelters and rescues rather than from puppy mill operations.

WHO: Legislators, advocates and canine guests from across the state. In addition to Farry, the following lawmakers are scheduled to participate: Sens. Guy Reschenthaler (R-37) and Andy Dinniman (D-19); and Reps. Jason Ortitay (R-46) and Dom Costa (D-21).

WHEN: Monday, Oct. 15, at noon

WHERE: Capitol Media Center 8 East Wing, State Capitol Complex, Harrisburg

LIVE WEBSTREAMING: Barring any technical difficulties, the event will stream live at RepFarry.com.
