Community Invited to ‘Star-Spangled’ Event on Flag Day in Middletown Township, Farry Says
LANGHORNE – The community is invited to join in the singing of the “Star-Spangled Banner” at a local Raise It Up! program event hosted by Middletown Township and Langhorne Borough on Flag Day, June 14, at 4 p.m., said state Rep. Frank Farry (R-Bucks).

During the event, which will take place at the Middletown Township Building, the Langhorne Middletown Fire Company will be displaying the flag that inspired the national anthem from its tower truck as Katie Pullman, a 16-year-old from Council Rock South, leads participants in the singing of the Star-Spangled Banner.

“Raise It Up! Anthem for America” is a celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Star-Spangled Banner being held in communities across the country on Flag Day. The National Museum of American History is encouraging citizens across the U.S. to participate in the largest group sing of the national anthem in history.

“We are very excited about being a part of this unique opportunity to pay tribute to a song that has united our nation,” Farry said. “Not only is it about coming together as a community, it’s also a great time to reflect on the words and the meaning of the song, and those who have served and are currently serving our country so that we can live free.”

The Middletown Township Building is located at 3 Municipal Way in Langhorne.
